Skalen zur Erfassung der affektiven Valenz des Lesens und Rechnens im dritten und vierten Grundschuljahr
Short abstract
The scales of the questionnaire affVAL-LR34 are intended to assess the affective valences of primary school children with regard to the learning areas of reading and arithmetic. Both scales consist of six estimation items per school subject. Reliability: The internal consistencies in both grades were sufficient for both subjects (alpha over .86). Validity: The relationships of the two scales to selected performance measures and cognitive-motivational reference variables resulted in a clear school subject-specific pattern. In addition, there were indications of gender-dependent characteristics of their sum values. And finally, significant correlations of both scales with different context variables, in detail with the perceived behaviour of the teachers, the social class climate and the general school unwillingness of the pupils, could be demonstrated.
