Social Agency Skala
Short abstract
The Social Agency Scale measures the subjectively perceived social agency when reading written learning material. Based on Social Agency Theory (Mayer, 2014), it comprises 12 items that are assigned to the following four facets: (1) Conversational Character] (CC), (2) Sympathy and Emotional Connection (SE), (3) Explanatory Effect (EE), and (4) Task Involvement (TI). Reliability: The internal consistency of the four facets ranges between Cronbach's α = .82 and α = .90. Validity: The scale is content-valid and empirically supported by exploratory factor analyses. Significant group differences (personalized vs. non-personalized learning materials) demonstrate the scale's ability to differentiate.
