Regensburger Skala zur Messung des Entzugssyndroms nach multiplem Substanzgebrauch
Short abstract
The scale provides a quantitative measure of the subjective strength of withdrawal syndrome after multiple substance use consisting of 35 items. The starting point is the concept of drug dependence, coined by the WHO in 1964, as a state of mental or psychological and physical dependence on a substance with a central nervous effect that is taken temporarily or continuously. Reliability: Cronbach's alpha was alpha = .95. Validity: The relationship between the scale value for the subjective strength of withdrawal and the objective value for the decrease in the amount of drugs in urine (r = .21-.27) was investigated. A written survey of the nursing staff as experts revealed significant correlations between scale values on the one hand and total value of the expert survey and individual symptom assessments on the other hand (rmax = .47). Furthermore, a significant correlation was found between the initial substitution amount as a measure of the amount of drugs consumed before withdrawal and that of the withdrawal scale (r = .20-.30).
