CENS-PE
Checkliste zur Erfassung neuropsychiatrischer Störungen bei Parkinsonerkrankung
Short abstract
The short "Checklist for the detection of neuropsychiatric disorders in Parkinson's disease" (CENS-PE) is designed to measure neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease. It consists of 12 items, which are assigned to the disturbance pictures psychotic symptoms, mood/apathy and disturbance of impulse control. Reliability: The internal consistency of the CENS-PE for all subscales is in the lower range (Cronbach's alpha = .35-.70). Validity: The construct validity was calculated (confirmatory and exploratory factor analyses, mean item intercorrelations). To prove the convergent validity, the items of the scale tuning/apathy were correlated with similar measurement methods (r > .30). A variance analytical test with three samples (1) without cognitive restrictions, (2) with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and (3) with dementia showed that the sum value of the CENS-PE distinguishes significantly between the three groups. Patients with dementia have a significantly higher sum value in CENS-PE than patients without cognitive deficits. Since only seven patients fulfilled the diagnostic criteria for Parkinson's dementia at the time of the study, the generalizability of this result is limited.
