CSM
Composite Scale of Morningness - deutsche Fassung
Short abstract
The German adaptation of the CSM is used to measure the chronotype. The questionnaire consists of 13 questions. Reliability: The internal consistency for the long form varies between Cronbach's Alpha = .84 and Alpha = .87. For the short form, characteristic values between Alpha = .64 and Alpha = .82 were obtained for different samples; the retest reliability for a retest interval of 11-12 weeks was rtt = .88. Validity: To check the validity, a) the underlying factor structure of the questionnaire as well as b) correlations to various physiological and psychological parameters and c) the MEQ were examined. Most studies point to a two- or three-factor solution, although age- and culture-specific differences were found. Furthermore, statistically significant, expectation-compliant correlations could be achieved, e.g. to various variables of the sleep-wake rhythm, physiological and cognitive performance as well as to the Morningness-Eveningness-Questionnaire.
