CHOICE
Choice of Outcome in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Psychoses - deutsche Fassung
Short abstract
The CHOICE Scale is intended for people undergoing cognitive-behavioural therapy (KVT) due to psychosis and is intended to assess the changes caused by the therapy from the patient's perspective. The scale comprises 20 items, which can be filled out either alone or in the presence of the therapist. The scale was constructed because commonly used scales for therapy outcomes often originate from pharmacological research (Greenwood et al., 2010) and therefore have a one-sided, symptom-oriented approach (Lincoln, 2014). KVT, on the other hand, aims not only to reduce symptoms but also to reduce, for example, the burden of symptoms, which is why this scale attempts to survey the changes relevant from the patient's point of view. CHOICE was established by interviewing KVT experts and patients who had already received KVT due to schizophrenia about target variables. The validity and reliability of the English version were reviewed and proven, and those of the German version are being reviewed in an ongoing study (as of 2017).
