lereSK-GS4
Skalen zum schulfachspezifischen Selbstkonzept im Lesen und Rechnen für das vierte Grundschuljahr
Short abstract
The scales of lereSK-GS4 are intended to measure the performance-related self-concepts of fourth-grade primary school children in the learning areas of reading and arithmetic. Both scales are composed of 11 four-level estimating items per school subject. The scales were used and tested in a sample of N = 266 fourth-year primary school children. Reliability: The internal consistencies turned out to be adequate for both scales (alpha above .80). Validity: The relationships of the two scales to selected performance measures and cognitive-motivational reference variables showed a clear pattern specific to the school subject. Gender-dependent differences in the expression of their cumulative values were found in favour of boys in arithmetic. Finally, significant correlations between the two scales and various context variables, in particular with the perceived behaviour of teachers and the social classroom climate, but not with the general school disaffection of the pupils, could be demonstrated.
