Skalen zur schulfachspezifischen Leistungsangst im Lesen und Rechnen für das vierte Grundschuljahr
Short abstract
The scales are intended to measure the school-specific performance anxiety of fourth-grade primary school children in reading and arithmetic. In particular, they can be used as a research tool for analysing teaching and learning processes, for analysing the diagnostic competence of teachers with regard to class internal performance anxieties and for evaluating correspondingly proactive teaching and remedial intervention concepts. Both scales ("reading" and "arithmetic") are composed of six four-step estimation items per school subject. Reliability: The internal consistencies were still acceptable for both scales (alpha over .75). Validity: The relationships of the two scales to selected performance measures and cognitive-motivation reference variables resulted in a clear school-specific pattern. Gender-dependent differences in the expressions of their sum values were found in arithmetic in favor of boys. And finally, significant correlations of both scales with different context variables, in detail with the perceived behaviour of the teachers and the social class climate, but not with the general school unwillingness of the pupils, could be proven.
