KP
Karriereplanung
Short abstract
The test instrument is useful for aptitude diagnostics and industrial psychology as well as for scientific research on the subject of careers. Career management is defined as a proactive process in shaping an effective career, which can be influenced by control beliefs (Aryee & Debrah, 1992). The measure is a translation of Gould's "Career Management" questionnaire (1979). The latter is based, among other things, on the theory of Hall (1976), which assumes four criteria for career effectiveness: work performance, behavior, adaptability, and identity. The KP consists of nine statements. Reliability: The internal consistency was Cronbach's Alpha = .82. Validity: A separate German study on the validity of the measure is not mentioned. However, the results suggest that career planning is related to variables such as the amount of information, learning motivation, and especially focus, while it seems to be independent of environmental exploration, self-exploration, and intended systematic exploration and subsequent transfers.
