PROFIL
Fragebogen und Interviewleitfaden zum Projekt "PROFIL"
Short abstract
"PROFIL" is used to describe non-university specialisations and career patterns in medicine and psychology and to analyse gender relations for all career-biographical patterns. The questionnaire consists of five main parts: I Information on socio-demographic characteristics and occupational activity, II Information on career choice, III Information on biography, IV Personal assessments of biography, V Information on the relationship between private and professional life. About 940 members of the professional associations (medical associations and the Federal Association of German Psychologists) answered the questionnaire. In a second step of the study, about 50 female and 50 male prototypical representatives of the most important career patterns were questioned in semi-open interviews on the individually perceived relations between professional and private life and on strategies of integration or segmentation of life spheres. The interview guideline developed for this purpose comprises six sections. Reliability: No information on reliability is available. Validity: Nine separate forms of life design could be proven. Significant gender differences and differences between psychologists and doctors could be proven from the questionnaire survey.
