CAINS
Clinical Assessment Interview for Negative Symptoms - deutsche Fassung
Short abstract
The German version of the CAINS is a semi-structured interview test that is used to assess the current severity of negative symptoms in patients with psychotic disorders. The detailed procedure is suitable for a precise diagnostic assessment and therapy evaluation in the treatment of patients with prominent negative symptoms as well as for research purposes. It consists of two scales which measure motivation and joy as well as expression over different areas of life. Reliability: The internal consistency for the motivation and joy scale is Cronbach's Alpha = .87, for the expression scale Alpha = .80 and for the total scale Alpha = .87. Validity: The German version of the CAINS has a similarly good convergent and discriminant validity as the American version (Lincoln, 2014).
