GESINT-GS
Skala zur Erfassung von Geschichtsinteresse im Grundschulalter
Short abstract
The GESINT-GS scale is intended to measure the interest of primary school children in selected historical events and facts. It consists of 16 estimation items and has been used and tested in three independent samples of the second, third and fourth years of primary school. Reliability: The internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha) is sufficient at all grades studied (Alpha > .80). Validity: The items of this scale version can be regarded as sufficiently content valid. In addition, the significantly positive relationships between historical interest and historical knowledge prove the criterion-related validity of the procedure. A principal component analysis revealed a clear, simple single-factor pattern.
