WPI
Wiener Patientenzufriedenheitsinventar
Short abstract
The Vienna Patient Satisfaction Inventory is used in outpatient psychiatric institutions to measure patient satisfaction. It also serves as a research instrument. The WPI is divided into two parts. The first part contains 24 items on seven treatment dimensions and the second part contains 11 questions on three groups of services. Reliability: The internal consistency of the pilot version (= first version 1999) is Cronbach's alpha = .96 at item level and lies between alpha = .71 and alpha = .96 for the scales. Validity: The construct validity was determined by factor analysis. Proof of the construct validity is provided by qualitative interview data that are consistent with the previously defined dimensions, as well as expert judgements. Furthermore, significant correlations were found with patient satisfaction and several variables such as expectation or fulfillment of expectation or treatment outcome.
