IMEB-A
Instrument for Measuring Epistemic Beliefs in Accounting
Short abstract
The IMEB-A assesses individual ideas about knowledge and knowledge acquisition for sustainable management. It builds on the model of epistemic convictions of Hofer and Pintrich (1997) and Berding (2015, 2016, 2017). The questionnaire consists of 35 empirically tested items that capture the ideas about the structure, source, applicability, stability and justification of knowledge for sustainable management. Reliability: Reliability varies between Cronbach's Alpha = .71 and Alpha = .90 depending on the study and scale. Validity: The factor structure was confirmed in two studies by confirmatory factor analyses. The Fornell-Larcker criterion and forest tests prove the discriminatory validity of the scales. There is evidence of correlations with the test results on knowledge of sustainable management.
