KPD-38
Klinisch-Psychologisches Diagnosesystem 38
Short abstract
The Clinical Psychological Diagnosis System 38 measures the characteristics relevant for an assessment of results in a coherent form. The starting point for the selection of the relevant characteristics was a concept of health-related quality of life that is based on the WHO definition of health and therefore includes physical, psychological and social well-being. This concept was supplemented by the general quality of life, action competence and social support. The KPD-38 consists of six scales with a total of 38 items: (1) Physical impairment, (2) Mental impairment, (3) Social problems, (4) Action competence, (5) General life satisfaction, (6) Social support. Reliability: The internal consistencies are at alpha = .75-.91. Validity: The scale structure was largely confirmed by factor analysis for the representative norm sample (exception: two scales). A higher order factor analysis confirms a superordinate factor consisting of five of the six subscales. The scale values of the total scale allow a correct assignment of patient/standard sample in 84% of all cases. The correlations to established instruments largely meet expectations. Therapists largely agree with the clinical significance of the reported scale values. In most cases they confirm or complement their clinical impression. In less than 4% of the cases the quality of the feedback was doubted. Standards: The KPD-38 was standardised on a population representative sample of 2066 persons.
