Situational Eight DIAMONDS - deutsche Fassung
Short abstract
The measure named "Situational Eight DIAMONDS" (S8*) assesses generally valid situational characteristics in the form of self-assessments. It can be used as a research instrument. It is a modification of the Riverside Situational Q-Sort (RSQ) by Wagerman and Funder (2009). The procedure comprises the eight dimensions "Duty", "Intellect", "Adversity", "Mating", "pOsitivity", "Negativity", "Deception" and "Sociality" with a total of 24 items. Reliability: The internal consistency of the dimensions ranges between Cronbach's alpha = .61 and .90. Validity: To check construct validity or nomological validity, the Burt-Tucker congruence coefficient was calculated to prove the similarity between RSQ-8 (version 3.15) and S8*. In each case 52 correlations of both methods were z-transformed. The correlations of RSQ-8 (version 3.15) and S8* proved to be almost identical. Furthermore, confirmatory factor analyses were performed with the long and short version. The factor loads of the S8* items are all high (.57-.92).
