Fragebogen für Empowerment und Resilienz (STARC-5)
Himmer-Gurdan, S. B. (2024)
STARC-5, with its 5 analytically developed dimensions (self-esteem, trust/optimism, affective resilience, reliable problem solving, cognitive strength) and a total of 39 items, is suitable for depicting empowerment and making concrete therapeutic deductions. The test and item construction was theory-based and factor-analytical. Reliability: The reliability (Cronbach's alpha) of the individual scales was between .84 and .86. Validity: The STARC-5 has been validated for years on many different constructs and in heterogeneous studies with diverse target groups. Norms: Standardization took place in 2017/2018 on N = 348 people.

Resistenzorientierung-Regenerationsorientierungs-Skala (ReRe-Skala)
Otto, J., Linden, M. (2018)
The ReRe Scale is used to identify strategies for dealing with exposure. The questionnaire consists of 20 items in the two subscales (1) resistance orientation and (2) regeneration orientation. The transactional stress model (Lazarus & Folkman, 1984), salutogenesis and salutotherapy (Linden & Weig, 2009), euthyme therapy according to Lutz (2011) and the concept of "Hardiness" serve as theoretical framework concepts. (Kobasa, 1979). Reliability: The reliability of the scales, each consisting of 10 items, calculated using Cronbach's Alpha is Alpha = .92 for self-care and Alpha = .93 for readiness to spend. Validity: As proof of construct validity, significant correlation coefficients with the SCl-90, the factor-analytically proven two-factor structure and the expected high scale intercorrelations speak for themselves. The results for regeneration orientation go in the expected direction, for resistance orientation these results are not clear.

Differentieller Lebensbelastungsfragebogen (DLB)
Linden, M., Ritter, K. (2018)
The DLB Scale allows both negative and positive emotions to be measured. In addition to stress, an important aspect of psychological resilience in the sense of protective factors and resistance is recorded. 17 areas of life considered important were used as a basis for the construction and an item was formed for each area of life. These are 1 partnership/marriage, 2 sexuality, 3 children, 4 parents, 5 friends, 6 neighbours/citizens, 7 colleagues, 8 work, 9 leisure time, 10 health, 11 finances, 12 housing, 13 environment, 14 home, 15 politics, 16 future, 17 life balance. With the exception of the "Apartment" item, the questionnaire was psychometrically tested on N = 158 non-clinical subjects. The selectivity lies between rit = .19-.57. Reliability: The self-evaluation sheet has a good internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha = .74-.77). Validity: A calculation of the item intercorrelations shows low to medium correlations between the items. The factor analysis suggests a five-factor solution.

Fragebogen zur standardisierten Selbsteinschätzung emotionaler Kompetenzen (SEK-27)
Berking, M., Znoj, H. (2011)
The SEK-27 with 27 items measures nine competencies that are relevant for successful emotion regulation according to the competence-oriented model of adaptive emotion regulation by Berking (2010): Attention, clarity, body awareness, understanding, acceptance, resilience, self-support, confrontation and regulation. Reliability: The internal consistencies were at Cronbach's alpha = .68-.81 (subscales) and at alpha = .90 (total scale). Retest reliabilities after two weeks were rtt = .75 (full scale) and rtt = .48-.74 (subscales). Validity: The assumed factor structure was largely confirmed in the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The criterion validity could be proven by expected correlations with other measures of well-being and mental health. The comparison of the norm sample with the clinical sample was able to demonstrate the discrimination ability of SEK-27, as the two groups differed significantly. Furthermore, pre-/post measurements in the clinical sample during psychotherapeutic treatment provided evidence of the change sensitivity of SEK-27.

Complex Personality Inventory (CPI)
Gurdan, S. (2022)
The Complex Personality Inventory (CPI) according to Himmer-Gurdan (2007) is a modern bimodal measurement instrument for the assessment of complex, multi-layered and multifaceted personality. Based on the five-factor model of personality (Costa & McCrae, 1985), the five dimensions of extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness to experience, and neuroticism were operationalized independently and the respective complementary dimension was developed for each of these factors. It contains 13 scales and a total of 70 items. Reliability: The reliability of the various scales (Cronbach's alpha) ranges from α =.72 to α = .86. Validity: The construct and criterion validation was carried out with the NEO-FFI by Borkenau and Ostendorf (1993, German translation; original by Costa & McCrae, 1985) as well as on various external criteria.

The RDC Education at DIPF provides survey instruments, assessment instruments and analysing tools of educational research for free charge and non-commercial re-use issues.
The GESIS service ZIS — Open Access Repository for Social and Behavioural Science Measurement Instruments provides items, scales and tests for non-commercial research purposes free of charge.
The RDC Education hosted by the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education provides questionnaire instruments and assessment tests of quantitative educational research. Every scale of a study is documented in the RDC Education and is allocated up to three theoretical constructs of schooling and instruction. This kind of documentation allows insights in the theoretic arrangement of relevant studies of educational research. Furthermore, users are enabled to compare instruments by usual statistic values (like mean, standard deviation and cronbachs alpha) and multiple search and browsing options to find appropriate instruments for their specific research purposes. The service is of charge free use and all documented assessment instruments and scales are open for non-commercial reuse issues.
ZIS is an Open Access repository for mono- and multilingual social and behavioral science measurement instruments (questionnaire, test, items, scale, index) of the GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. Instruments on various topics in the social sciences such as job and career, health, education or politics are documented. For example, short scales to assess psychological characteristics (personality) and instruments to identify political or environment-related attitudes are available. The instruments are reviewed, documented and evaluated according to uniform scientific quality standards. All documented instruments can be used free of charge for non-commercial research purposes.
